Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Gameplay

With Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Ubisoft is looking to take the series into uncharted waters.  Featuring lush, tropical locations, sprawling cities, bountiful loot, and intense naval warfare, Black Flag will let you live out your wildest dreams of being a swashbuckling pirate on the high seas.

In some recent gameplay videos, the various locations you’ll be able to traverse are shown.  These locations are set in the Caribbean, and the world map is truly massive in this game.  With over 50 unique locations, it’ll take a very long time to explore and see everything the game has to offer.  In this first video shown below, Game Director Ashaf Ismail goes into detail about what you can expect from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.

Discovering treasure and upgrading your ship are key components of the game.  I also really liked the ambient life in the game.  Crabs scurry about the beaches, an iguana is chilling at the top of the temple where you find blueprints for your ship.  Ismail even mentioned that there are predators in the game.  It makes the world feel more alive and complete.  The storms in the game are also very impressive.  This level of dynamic immersion should really make the game have that dangerous potential that is inherent in exploration.

Are you excited for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag?  What do you think about the direction the series is heading with this title?
